Studio Gk3 is the
first semester 2nd year in architecture. The topic of the studio for this
semester is housing projects in an urban context. This semester the
students have worked on a highly relevant topic on the transformation of the
area at former Veterinærhøyskolen at Adamstuen. The students have been working
in groups of 2 on 3 different sites.
The aim for the
course is to investigate housing typologies through a self-programmed topic
that open up for multiple discussions on housing today. The students study
existing housing projects that form the basis for the common discussion.
In the studio we have
a main focus on the relation between ideas, spaces, construction and
materiality. The aim is to give the students firsthand experience in drawing
forth an idea to a complete building design.
